Motorists could soon use their ATM cards to pay car park
Find out how car park operators could also benefit from this first time ever scheme in Singapore.
NETS announced today that it is working with car park payment solution providers to enable NETS EFTPOS payment at the point of exit.
For the first time in Singapore, motorists will be able to either top up their NETS CashCard or pay the parking fee directly using their NETS Bank ATM Card when there are insufficient funds on the NETS CashCard at the point of exit.
Mr Ang Sok Hong, Vice President, Sales & Partnership said, “Motorists are used to using stored value cards such as the NETS CashCard to pay their parking fees, and they don’t really want that to change. What we’re doing is to give them greater convenience so that they have other options.”
The new NETS EFTPOS payment option will only be available if there are insufficient funds on the NETS CashCard to pay the parking fees. Motorists just have to insert their NETS Bank ATM Card and key their PIN to top-up their NETS CashCard or pay the parking fee.
“Car park operators also benefit from implementing this new NETS EFTPOS paymentsystem as it allows them to reduce the resources needed to man the car park,” Mr Ang added.
NETS is working with car park payment solution providers to enable this system at selected car parks. It is currently being piloted at the Church of the Sacred Heart car park located at Tank Road.
