SBS Transit and Siemens Mobility ink contracts for Downtown Line signalling support
Siemens Mobility will repair components, analyse failure trends, and manage obsolescence.
SBS Transit collaborates with Siemens Mobility (SMPL) to sustain the high performance of its Downtown MRT Line (DTL) signalling system.
The parties inked the two contracts and renewed one Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
Under the Long-Term Service Support (LTSS) contract running until 2047, SMPL will supply SBS Transit with spare parts and technical support for the DTL signalling system.
SMPL will also repair faulty components, conduct failure trend analysis, and manage obsolescence, ensuring timely intervention when spares become obsolete.
The second contract paves the way for a local maintenance centre at SMPL’s Component Service Centre for repairs and maintenance of MCEM91 point machines installed on the DTL.
SMPL will also train SBS Transit’s engineers to equip them with capabilities in maintenance, repairs and overhaul (MRO) of the MCEM91 point machines and the supply of essential spare parts required in maintenance.
Meanwhile, under the renewed MOU, SMPL will implement Controlguide® Airo, an Artificial Intelligence-based solution, to optimise train deployment.
