Shell launches electric vehicle charging service
It will be available at ten of its stations by October.
Shell has launched its new electric vehicle (EV) charging service dubbed as “Shell Recharge”, which it claims to be the e first of such service in Singapore and Southeast Asia.
The Shell Recharge houses 50kW rapid direct current (DC) chargers, which provides 0% to 80% charge in approximately 30 minutes. It is priced at $0.55 per kWh, and is compatible with most electric vehicles in Singapore.
Shell Recharge will be available at ten Shell stations starting with the Sengkang station in August 2019. It will then be rolled out to nine more stations island-wide by October. These stations include Newton Hooper, Alexandra, Yishun, Ang Mo Kio, Paya Lebar PIE, Choa Chu Kang, Boon Lay, Havelock and Bukit Batok West. This represents close to 20% of Shell’s retail network in Singapore.
Transactions can be made through the Shell Fleet Card. Shell Recharge is powered by its Greenlots unit’s EV charging network management software.
