Singapore roads score high in latest road quality study

The number of road deaths and car theft were low in the country. 

Singapore roads scored high, amongst the best in the world with 6.1 points, in the latest study by Global Positioning Specialists (GPS) which assessed 60 of the most car-dependent countries around the world.

The study also investigated the number of road deaths and motor vehicle crimes per 100,000 population. The numbers of Singapore were low, only having six deaths and seven thefts. 

Meanwhile, Thailand had the highest rate of road-related deaths with 36.2 making it the most dangerous country for road traffic deaths however it has better results in the crime and road condition category.

As for Australia, it ranked 32nd for road quality (4.8/7) and 40th for motor vehicle death rate (5.4). It made the top 20 list, ranking as the 15th most dangerous country to be a driver after ranking 7th for vehicle crime (212.5 thefts).
