SMRT, Purple Parade Movement roll out special concept trains and buses showcasing inclusivity

The special concept trains and buses will feature 21 faces of the movement.

The Purple Parade Movement partnered with SMRT Corporation Ltd (SMRT) to support the inclusion of persons with disabilities (PwDs) in public transport by launching special concept trains and buses.

Members of The Purple Parade, such as Paralympian Yip Pin Xiu and artist Glenn Phua attended the project’s launch.

Displayed in three carriages of a train running on the Circle Line are 21 individual profiles of the movement members. These profiles will also be on the platform screen doors of Bras Basah MRT Station.

The profiles will be on display until 21 April.

Meanwhile, profiles on two concept buses (SMRT service 960) will run from 25 April to 5 June.

“Our partnership with The Purple Parade underscores SMRT’s continuous commitment to Do Right, Do Good and Do Well, and to serve Singapore, first and foremost.” Ngien Hoon Ping, Group Chief Executive Officer of SMRT, said.
