SMRT pushes 'Early Travel' discount to 50 cents
The higher discount is extended to Circle Line stations starting 6 August.
In a release, starting Monday, 6 August 2012, commuters will get a higher discount of up to 50 cents as part of SMRT's 'Early Travel' discount. SMRT will also extend this discount to Circle Line stations. The move aims to encourage more commuters to travel before the morning peak hours and further ease crowding during morning peak hours.
The 50-cent discount will benefit passengers on the North-South East-West Lines (NSWEL), Circle Line (CCL) and Bukit Panjang LRT (BPLRT) who arrive at 14 city area stations before 7.45am on weekdays (Mondays-Fridays, excluding public holidays).
The 14 city area stations are Bugis, City Hall, Dhoby Ghaut, Lavender, Orchard, Outram Park, Raffles Place, Somerset and Tanjong Pagar, and the newly added CCL stations: Bayfront, Bras Basah, Esplanade, Marina Bay and Promenade.
SMRT will publicise this scheme through posters and ticker tape messages on the passenger information screens at its stations, its corporate website www.smrt.com.sg, Twitter @smrt_singapore and mobile application, SMRTConnect.
