ST Engineering, NTU launch Singapore's first EV park and charge system
The system would benefit EV owners and address the problem of using multiple parking and charging platforms.
ST Engineering has deployed the GoParkin Smart Car Park System, touted as Singapore's first integrated electric vehicle (EV) parking and charging system, at Nanyang Technological University's (NTU).
The GoParkin Smart Car Park System allows owners to find available parking spaces and charging ports for their EVs, monitor the charging status, and make payments through a single mobile app.
Through the system's Plug-n-Charge feature, owners can connect the charging to their EVs to begin the session whilst the system verifies their vehicle licence plate through the Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology.

The ANPR technology would help the parking enforcement team to detect EVs and non-EVs that were lot hogging.
Six EV charging points with the GoParkin Smart Car Park System were installed in Car Parks A, B, and Q at NTU's Jurong campus, with eight more would roll out at four more car parks.
Ang Kim Siah, ST Engineering Head of Mobility Road and Urban Solutions, said the GoParkin Smart Car Park System benefits motorists and car park operators and addresses the pain point of using multiple parking and charging platforms.
