Wheel or no wheel: SPH launches used-car sale service Wheel Deal
It’s the first of its kind in Singapore.
Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) is blazing trails with its used-car sale service Wheel Deal. Wheel Deal is the first consumer service of its kind in Singapore, and with the number of used cars changings hands in the past decade, it’s hit the motherlode.
“In 2005, close to 24,000 cars were transferred. Between January and September this year, over 68,000 cars transferred ownership,” SPH asserts.
Wheel Deal mines its network of car dealers for the best prices on behalf of car owners who want to sell their used cars. The service is open to everyone- even to companies, commercial vehicle agencies, and even government agencies- since Wheel Deal can arrange for sellers to find three or more dealers to bid for their cars. Car owners need only sign up through SMS, a hotline number, or the Wheel Deal website and provide basic information about their car.
The service’s users will receive the highest quote for their car within one business day. Car owners can choose between having the car dealer contact them directly or having Wheel Deal set a meeting for them and the car dealer. Car owners are not obligated to sell their car, though.
Wheel Deal sweetens the deal even more by awarding users who complete their transaction with any of the service’s recommended dealers with petrol vouchers worth $50.
Wheel Deal is being launched in conjunction with The Cars@Expo auto show this weekend.
