Jardine Cycle & Carriage appoints Alex Newbigging as CEO of Hong Kong automotive services unit
He will also be responsible of Jardine Strategic’s investment in Zhongsheng Group.
Jardine Cycle & Carriage (JC&C) has promoted its Alex Newbigging to CEO of its Hong Kong-based automotive services unit Jardine International Motors Limited (JIM) on 30 September, an announcement revealed.
Previously occupying the post of group managing director, Newbigging will also assume responsibility for Jardine Strategic’s investment in Zhongsheng Group, an automotive dealership group representing a diversified portfolio of marques across China.
Benjamin Birks will succeed him as JC&C’s group managing director.
Birks was most recently the CEO of Zung Fu, having held the role since 2016, and in recent months JIM. He was previously the CEO of Jardine Pacific and IKEA Hong Kong, the general manager of Zung Fu Macau and executive assistant to Jardine Matheson’s previous managing director, Anthony Nightingale.
