Consumer watchdog warns Purexygen for unfair practices

The business has given an underwriting to ensure compliance with the CPFTA.

The Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS) has issued warnings to Purexygen Pte. Ltd. and its directors due to unfair practices.

CCCS discovered that Purexygen, a supplier of water filtration systems, had engaged in unfair conduct after investigating the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003 (CPFTA).

The business had recorded several unfair practices between September 2021 to November 2023.

Purexygen has since responded to the investigation by taking active steps to make changes to their business practices, as well as giving an underwriting in compliance with the CPFTA.

Purexygen’s directors Heng Wei Hwee and Tan Tong Ming have similarly given undertakings that the company will not engage in the unfair practices identified during the CCCS’ investigation.
