PUB opens tender for 55 MW floating solar panels at Pandan Reservoir
The tender will close on 26 September.
The Public Utilities Board (PUB) has called for tenders for the development of a 55 megawatt-peak (MWp) floating solar photovoltaic (FPV) system at Pandan Reservoir.
The appointed developer will install floating solar panels on the reservoir's surface, covering 22% of the space.
The developer will be involved in the engineering, procurement, construction, operation and maintenance of the floating solar PV (FPV) system.
PUB aims to complete the project in 2028.
Once completed, PUB said the FPV system will generate enough solar energy to power the equivalent of 16,000 four-room HDB flats.
"The FPV will help to reduce carbon emissions by about 27 kilotonnes annually, similar to taking 5,800 cars off the road," PUB added.
