IDA inks memorandum of intent with Surbana Jurong and Lendlease
The partnership opens overseas opportunities for accredited companies.
With the recent signing of two memoranda of intent (MOI) by the city-state's Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) with two leading infrastructure and property players Surbana Jurong and Lendlease, local tech companies would not be limited anymore to urban development projects offered by government agencies.
Both partnerships will give chance to IDA-accredited companies to expand beyond the government sector by acquiring projects through the two property players' worldwide footprint.
Surbana Jurong caters to the consultancy needs for urbanisation and infrastructure development in Asia, Africa, and Middle East. Two IDA-accredited companies, Evercomm and Sense Infosys, have already entered into talks with Surbana Jurong to explore integration into Smart City in a Box, a platform that combines various smart city solutions together.
"Through this partnership, IDA accredited companies are now able to participate in master planning projects and build on successful deployments," IDA said in a statement.
On the other hand, Lendlease provide services on the broader spectrum of property sector such as development works, investment and project management for construction, and asset management.
“This partnership will allow for IDA accredited companies’ tech solutions to be explored for existing and future projects for Lendlease in Singapore, as well as overseas markets such as Asia Pacific and Australia,” the authority noted.
