Jasper Investments completes $71.8m cash sale of rig

Includes $10.8m previous grant payment.

Jasper Investments Limited announced its wholly-owned subsidiary has received cash of US$71.8 million from the completion of the sale of its rights and obligations for a rig being built by Keppel.

The amount received by Jasper Beacon Pte. Ltd. (JBPL) included $10.8 million previously paid for the grant of the option. The purchaser is Mexican oil field services company Integradora De Servicios Petroleros Oro Negro, S.A.P.I de CV (ON).

The deal to sell was first announced on 7 August 2012 when Jasper said two wholly-owned subsidiaries, Jasper Adventurer Pte. Ltd. and JBPL had entered into an agreement with ON.

The two rigs currently being built by Keppel FELS Limited are Hull No. B328 and Hull No. B336.

On 14 September 2012, Jasper announced the completion of the sale of the first rig for which it received US$73.4 million.
