OKP Holdings clinches S$7.5m drainage upgrade contract
The engineering firm will expand the drains and raise road levels in Queen Astrid Park, Benoi Road and Wan Lee Road.
OKP Holdings' wholly-owned subsidiary, Eng Lam Contractors Co (Pte) Ltd clinched the contract from national water agency, Public Utilities Board, its second in two months. Early this month, OKP was awarded a S$4.9 million contract for works in Stamford Canal at Orchard Road, the company noted in a release.
Work for this latest roadside drain improvement contract is scheduled to start on 28 May 2012 and is targeted to be completed around August next year (2013), said OKP Holdings.
"The main scope of works includes the construction of varying lengths of drains as well as box culverts in the various areas under improvement and to raise the existing road levels including reconstruction of road furniture," it said.
Group Managing Director Mr Or Toh Wat said: “OKP is pleased for yet another opportunity to work on such a project. OKP has extensive experience in projects of this nature and it is an affirmation of our expertise, proficiency as well as our ability to maintain cost-efficiency that we continue to secure such contracts over the years. We are encouraged whenever we secure these contracts, and they spur us to give of our best at all times so that we can keep building our track record in this sphere.”
The latest win is OKP’s third public sector project since the year started, the firm said. Apart from the two PUB contracts, including this latest win, the Group secured a S$75.3 million contract in February for the extension of the Central Expressway/Tampines Expressway/Seletar Expressway Interchange from the Land Transport Authority.
The Group’s total gross order book to date stands at S$336.3 million based on secured civil engineering and construction contracts, with some projects stretching up to 2015.
