T T J re-secures Downtown Line 2 subcontracts, new contracts worth S$41m

New contracts order book climbs to S$151m.

T T J Holdings Limited (T T J) has announced new contracts totalling approximately S$41 million, boosting its latest order book to S$151 million which the Group expects to substantially complete in FY2014 and FY2015.

Notably, the Group has successfully re-secured the sub-contracts for the Sixth Avenue and King Albert Park stations (Contract 917A) from McConnell Dowell (SEA) for the supply, fabrication and installation of civil defence shelter doors as well as the supply, fabrication, dismantling and removal of strutting and decking.

In addition, the sub-contract for the Tan Kah Kee station (Contract 918A) was also awarded to the Group by SK Engineering and Construction (Singapore), which will see T T J supply, fabricate and install civil defence shelter doors.

With this, the Group said it has mitigated previous exposure from the insolvency of Alpine Bau GmbH related to these stations.

The Group has also successfully secured a contract for another landmark project in Singapore, Tanjong Pagar Centre, currently under development by GuocoLand, which is set to be the tallest building in Singapore at 290 metres. T T J will supply, fabricate, and install superstructure steel structure works.

In addition, the Group has clinched a contract for the supply, fabrication and installation of structural steelworks for Mediapolis @ one-north.

Commenting on the latest contract wins, T T J’s Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Teo Hock Chwee said: “With the sub-contracts for the three Downtown Line Stage 2 (DTL2) stations in hand again, I am happy to report that T T J has effectively mitigated any previous exposure we had to these projects. I believe this strong order book momentum testifies to the reputation for reliability and quality that T T J commands in the structural steel market in Singapore.”

Elaborating on the outlook, he added, “With Singapore’s robust population growth, infrastructure development and government-backed mega projects in the pipeline, we believe there will be many business opportunities going forward.”
