Vard snaps up contract to build two carrier vessels for Topaz
Aggregate contract price is around $54.4 million.
Singapore-listed specialised ship designer Vard Holdings has unveiled its secured contract for the design and construction of two additional module carrier vessels for a leading offshore support vessel company, Topaz Energy and Marine.
The aggregate contract price awarded to Vard is at around $54.4 million (US$40m)
Measuring 123m x 16.5m, the vessels are sister ships of a series of 15 identical module carrier vessels previously contracted by Topaz for delivery from VARD’s shipyards in Tulcea and Braila in Romania, and Vung Tau in Vietnam.
According to the group, the two will be operated by Topaz through a consortium led by Blue Water Shipping.
Both vessels are scheduled to be delivered by the second quarter of 2018.
