Yongnam Holdings eyes more contract wins from KL-Singapore rail project
Estimated cost is at MYR8-14b.
According to maybank Kim Eng, Yongnam stands to gain more contract wins from the KL-Singapore high speed rail project, which is expected to complete by 2020 at an estimated cost of MYR8-14b.
Here's more:
In addition, we think Yongnam is likely to benefit from the 4km Singapore-Johor Rapid Transit System Link connecting the Thomson Line in Singapore to the KTM in Malaysia, which is expected to complete by 2018.
Right now, authorities of both countries are exploring two options for the trains to run either above ground or via undersea tunnel. Logistically, we believe the latter option is more realistic.
Yongnam’s expertise in strutting would be highly sought after if the second option is selected as tunnelling under water would be similar to the KPE and MCE projects it undertook previously.
