Construction works for CR14 Turf City station to commence in 3Q24
The project was awarded to a joint venture corporation.
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) confirmed that construction works for the CR14 station are expected to start in 3Q24 and passenger service for CRL Phase 2 will commence in 2032.
The civil contract for the design and construction of CR14 Turf City station and tunnels under the Cross Island Line Phase 2 (CRL2) was awarded to a joint venture (JV) corporation between Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co (Singapore) and Obayashi Corporation.
The contract was worth $350m.
The CR14 station is an underground station located along Turf Club Road, near the former Grandstand.
Construction works are expected to be challenging due to the varying soil conditions in the area.
LTA will roll out mitigation measures to minimise environmental impact and road calming measures such as speed bumps and speed limit signages near the worksite to prevent vehicular accidents.
LTA will maintain engagement with nature groups and stakeholders to update them on construction progress and mitigation measures outlined in the Environmental Monitoring and Management Plan.
