IES Singapore launches $210,000 scholarship fund for eng’g college students
They also inked an MOU with Singapore Space Technology Limited.
The Institute of Engineers, Singapore (IES) has launched a scholarship fund for tertiary students pursuing an engineering degree.
The IES Scholarship Fund will disburse $38,000 annually towards scholarship recipients and finance engineering students studying at the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), polytechnics, and universities.
The fund is expected to reach $210,000 in size. It will be made up of donations raised by IES through golf tournaments.
IES has also partnered with the NTUC to hold an inaugural IES Career Fair during the National Engineers Day (NED) 2024 held at ITE College Central.
Furthermore, IES has inked a memorandum of understanding with Singapore Space Technology Limited (SSTL) to open up job and entrepreneurial opportunities in space in Singapore and the wider region.
Under the MOU, IES engineers will attend conferences, workshops, and seminars on topics such as space engineering, data science in space technology, renewable energy, and infrastructure engineering innovations.
