
SEC grants GreenDNA certification to 12 firms
Amongst the recipients were DBS, ComfortDelGro, and Grand Hyatt Singapore.
The Singapore Environment Council (SEC) awarded 12 organisations with the GreenDNA certification at the GreenDNA Certification Launch cum Award Presentation Ceremony on 13 January.
The recipients hailed from many industries, including banking, business services, consumer, construction, F&B, hospitality, property, and transport.
The 12 awardees are SBS Transit, Grand Hyatt Singapore, Procter & Gamble (Singapore), Arcadis Singapore, Office Planner, DBS, Frasers Property Aquamarine Trustee, DTC World Corporation, ComfortDelGro Corporation, Frog’ys, CDL, and Jim & Hall’s.
Founded on SEC’s eco certification and green label programmes, the GreenDNA is a system which helps organisations optimise resources, lower carbon emissions, and achieve climate-related goals. “Holders of the GreenDNA certification attained an added edge as they transform their business and organisational practices, mind sets and actions tuned to a sustainability agenda,” the SEC said.
“Collectively, the 12 companies have committed to reduce their current baseline of 0.138 million tonnes CO2e by 10%,” said SEC chair Isabella Huang-Loh.
The certificates were awarded by the event’s guest-of-honor Grace Fu, minister for sustainability and the environment of Singapore. According to a statement, the ceremony “marks what could be the start of a new wave of companies and businesses seeking to be future ready to take advantage of an emerging green economy.”
