According to Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS), the Industrials sector includes companies that are involved in Capital Goods, Commercial & Professional Services, and Transportation.

There are 219 stocks listed on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) that categorised by GICS under the Industrials sector with a total market capitalisation of S$238 billion.

According to SGX, within the industrials sector, the 20 largest capitalised stocks have a combined market capitalisation of S$210.0 billion. They generated an average 2014 year-to-date total return of 10.2% with a median total return of 1.6%. As many as 11 of these 20 stocks represent the Capital Goods category, eight from the Transportation category, and one from the Commercial & Professional Services category.

In terms of price change percent since the end of the first half of 2013, the five best performing stocks among the 20 largest capitalised stocks were United Engineers, Singapore Post, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding (Holdings), Jardine Matheson Holdings and United Envirotech. Three of these five stocks come from the Capital Goods category, one from Transportation, and the other from the Commercial & Professional Services.
