
SembMarine bags contracts worth $400m
This includes building jacket foundations for Taiwan's largest offshore wind farm.
Sembcorp Marine (SembMarine) clinched contracts for projects worth $400m, including a contract for a wind farm in Taiwan, according to a press release

Its subsidiary, Sembcorp Marine Offshore Platforms, signed with marine construction company Jan De Nul to fabricate 15 jacket foundations for the Formosa 2 Offshore Wind Farm, which will be delivered by December 2020.
The 376 MW facility is set to be Taiwan's largest offshore wind farm, to generate electricity for over 380,000 household when it begins operation in late 2021.

Meanwhile, Sembcorp Marine Rigs & Floaters inked an agreement with joint venture companies Shapoorji Pallonji Oil and Gas Private Limited and Bumi Armada Berhad, to convert the very large crude carrier (VLCC) Ariake into a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit to deploy in the east coast of India.
The project included hull repairs and upgrading as well as fabrication of at least three topside modules that will be installed on the vessel, to be delivered in the second half of 2021.
The vessel has a 1.3 million-barrel storage facility, and can produce up to 90,000 barrels of oil per day.
In addition, Sembcorp Marine Repairs & Upgrades will spearhead the makeover of Askuka II, Japan's largest cruise ship, for NYK Cruises, to be executed over 45 days from January 2020.
This will involve the installation of a sulphur oxide scrubber unit on the vessel.
It is also set to have three gas projects due for delivery between the end of this year and February 2020.
The company signed to convert the LNG tanker Dwiputra to a 125,000 cbm floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) for a joint venture between Mitsui O.S.K. Lines and Karpower International, and the NYK Line's former gas carrier LNG Flora into a 127,000 cbm floating storage unit for Gasfin Development S.A.
It will also do upgrading works on the 173,400 cbm FSRU BW Magna for BW LNG.
