ST Engineering to form JV with Vietnam Airlines

The JV will focus on providing airframe MRO services.

ST Engineering is exploring the formation of a joint venture (JV) with Vietnam Airlines (VNA) and other potential airline partners, according to a press release. The JV is said to cater to VNA and the Asia Pacific region’s needs on airframe maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) services.

The company said that the JV will operate out of Vietnam Airlines’ facilities located at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi and Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City to provide base maintenance services.

]The partnership will leverage the MRO expertise of ST Engineering as well as the firm's extensive networks of airline partners.

ST Engineering has already set up its first component MRO facility in Vietnam in September 2019.
