Baker Technology names Tan Wee Lee as managing director of Baker Engineering

He will take charge of the wholly owned subsidiary of the Company.

Baker Technology announced the appointment of Tan Wee Lee as managing director of Baker Engineering, a wholly owned subsidiary of the group.

Mr Tan, 43, will be responsible for overall management and operations of Baker Engineering. Baker Engineering will be specialising in the design and manufacture of offshore and marine equipment, according to a Baker Technology report.

Mr Tan started his career in Keppel FELS as a graduate management trainee (Electrical Superintendent) in 1995. In 1998, he left Keppel FELS to join PPL Shipyard ("PPLS") as a project engineer and was promoted to project manager in 2005. During his 10 years in PPLS, he was involved in all aspects of rig construction and was project manager of five high specification jack up drilling rig projects. In 2008, he left PPLS to join a Chinese private shipyard as general manager to set up a marine and offshore division. He later established an engineering and marketing subsidiary in Singapore and became the managing director of the Singapore company.
