Tonio Buonassisi
Professor Tonio Buonassisi is a Principal Investigator at the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART), MIT’s Research Enterprise in Singapore, where he leads and collaborates with Singapore-based researchers and manufacturers. He is also a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at MIT, granted tenure for his outstanding contributions to solar energy research.
He founded the Accelerated Materials Development Programme at A*STAR with NUS and NTU and founded the MIT PVLab. His work and research, benefitting both companies and the public, have earned him a US Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists & Engineers (PECASE) in 2016 from President Obama, a National Science Foundation CAREER Award, a Google Faculty Award, the prestigious Everett Moore Baker Award — the only MIT teaching award selected by undergraduates.

Tze Hsien (T.H.) Lim
As the Managing Director of UPS Singapore and Malaysia, T.H. is responsible for driving growth of the company’s small package operations in both markets. In his role, he oversees strategic business units that include Operations, Marketing, Business Development and Finance & Accounting.
During his term as Vice President of Strategic Planning and Development for the Asia Pacific Region, T.H. spearheaded several projects including the relocation of the UPS Asia Pacific Air Hub from Clark, Philippines to Shenzhen, China in 2010.
An advocate for inclusive growth, he spoken extensively on the advantages of internationalization and exports for SMEs at industry events and capacity-building workshops jointly organized by UPS. A Malaysian native, T.H. holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Oklahoma State University.
Udara Withana
Udara is a passionate ‘mad man’ who has traversed the world of advertising in both account management and strategic planning fields winning at numerous award shows and creative competitions. He has lead account management, strategy, and new business teams across the APAC region. Working seamlessly across Digital and Integrated platforms, he is currently the Strategic Planning Director at Dentsu Singapore. Udara is a double degree holder in International Marketing and Management.
