Kamal Karmakar
Kamal is the founder and promoter of CitiXsys. He has been responsible for the company’s evolution to be a specialist provider of software products in Retail segment. Kamal’s responsibilities include Business Strategy, Global Sales, Product Innovation and Growth.
Under his leadership, CitiXsys grew to become the market leader in Retail Technology domain and known as an innovator in Retail sector. He has also guided the organization to receive several prestigious awards in tech industry.
Beyond his work in CitiXsys, Kamal has considerable experience at counseling executives at high growth companies on strategy formulation, business model transformation, and implementation of balanced scorecard in their enterprise. He has worked with many companies in a counseling capacity with an exceptional track record of helping management teams achieve better strategy & bottom-line improvements.
A graduate of Harvard Business School, Kamal is well recognized in the industry and is on board of various companies globally including being a member of SAP Advisory Council for Business One in Germany.
Karam Malhotra
Karam Malhotra is the Partner and Global VP at the SHAREit Group, a global internet technology company that is ‘making digital content equally accessible by everyone’. SHAREit Group’s diversified suite of applications, including the hero app SHAREit, a file-sharing, gaming, and content streaming platform, has been installed by nearly 2.4 billion users worldwide. Based in Singapore, he helms the global sales team and formulates strategy for SHAREit to build a digital ecosystem, especially in the emerging markets.
He is equally focused on driving SHAREit’s growth and expanding its global footprint. An entrepreneur by passion, Karam has co-founded two businesses - FastFilmz in 2015, which operated in the video on demand market while serving entertainment to smartphone users, and Greatest Common Factor (GCF), an ed-tech company in 2017, which looked to revolutionize how students prepare for competitive exams through a digital-first education approach.
He began his career as a senior analyst in McKinsey & Company after which he moved to Chicago to attend Kellogg School of Management at the Northwestern University in 2011. Upon completion, he returned to McKinsey London as a Junior Partner in the firm, advising media, entertainment, and technology clients across Asia and Europe.
Apart from holding a degree in Physics, he is a graduate of the Trinity College of Music and normally spends his weekends playing the piano, drums, and guitar.
Karen Cariss
Karen Cariss is the CEO and Co-founder of global talent management Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company, PageUp, and Co-author of the book: Cliffhanger: HR on the Precipice in the Future of Work.
She remains the driving force behind the success of PageUp since its humble beginnings in 1997, and is based in Singapore. Karen is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the company as well as ensuring alignment across all divisions.
Her extreme passion for the company is evident in her work and entrepreneurial attitude, which has been publicly acknowledged by several publications and awards. Karen was named one of BRW’s Top 50 Female Entrepreneurs in June 2006, and won the Ernst and Young ‘Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award' in 2008, as well as the 'Victorian Telstra Women's Business Award' in 2009.
Karen has also used her experience in business to assist the judging of the 2006 Telstra Business Awards and 2005 AIMIA iAwards and is formally qualified with a Bachelor of Applied Science and Honours in Science and is currently a member of the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI).

Karin Clarke
Karin, Asia director of font, is an experienced and results-oriented leader with strong commercial acumen and an extensive background covering a range of recruitment management disciplines. Prior to joining font in January 2013, she held a number of Senior Management roles in global recruitment firms, in Australia and New Zealand. In January 2008, she was appointed to spearhead Randstad’s Singapore operations; and in May 2009 took on the additional responsibilities for Malaysia.
Karl Hamann
Karl Hamann was appointed on 4 March 2014 as Chief Executive Officer of QBE Insurance (Singapore) Pte Ltd.
Karl is a veteran in the insurance industry with almost 30 years of working experience in the insurance industry, of which 16 years are spent in Asia. Prior to his appointment in Singapore, Karl was the Chief Executive Officer of QBE Insurance (Malaysia) Berhad for close to 4 years and was the Regional Operations Manager, Asia in the Singapore’s Regional Office from 2006 to 2010, covering QBE’s operations in Asia including Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand and Vietnam.
Karl was also the President and CEO & Executive Director of QBE Insurance (Philippines) Inc from 2002 to 2005. Karl first joined QBE in 1997 and moved to Asia as a Technical Advisor for QBE Pool Indonesia from 2000 to 2002.
Having worked in Sydney and Asia with strategic and leadership responsibilities in underwriting, claims, distribution and operational roles, Karl has extensive knowledge of the insurance industry both internationally and in the region. Under his strategic leadership in the various QBE’s offices in Asia, Karl has made significant contributions in driving business growth and profitability in these markets, and operational efficiency.
Karl holds a Bachelor Degree in Commerce from Deakin University and is a Fellow member of the Australian Insurance Institute. He is also a member of the Management Committee of the General Insurance Association (GIA) of Singapore as well as a Convenor of the GIA's Work Injury Compensation (WIC) Committee.
