Singapore emerges as the world’s 11th top city destination in 2023
In Southeast Asia, Singapore ranked first.
Singapore remains the most attractive city in Southeast Asia (SEA) in terms of tourism, sustainability and economic performance, Euromonitor International’s “Top 100 City Destinations for 2023” report showed.
According to Euromonitor International, Singapore is the 11th top city destination in 2023, leading the SEA region.
Cities included in the report are compared using 55 metrics across six key pillars: economic and business performance, tourism performance, tourism infrastructure, tourism policy and attractiveness, health and safety, and sustainability.
Singapore had “superior performance” in the Tourism Policy and Attractiveness and Health and Safety pillars.
Apart from Singapore, Asian cities which made the Top 20 include Tokyo (4th), Seoul (14), Osaka (16), and Hong Kong (17).
“The improved rankings of these leading Asian cities can be attributed to the reopening of the Greater China region, which brought forth a substantial influx of tourists. China, being the largest source country of tourists in Asia, played a pivotal role in this regard,” Euromonitor said.
