Datapulse’s net profit surges 150.5% to $1.9m
On back of higher Blu-Ray sales.
Datapulse Technology, a solution provider of CD, DVD and Blu Ray Discs services in the Asia Pacific region, reported that its Q1 net profit jumped 150.5% year-on-year to $1.9m.
The group’s revenue grew 31.6% from $9.5 million in the same period last year to $12.6 million in Q1.
The increase in revenue was attributed mainly to higher level of business activities and new product launches by customers, leading to higher sales of Blu-Ray media storage products and services and Cards printing products and services, partially offset by weaker sales for DVD media storage products and services.
Total operating expenses increased by 9.3% to $8.8 million mainly due to higher cost of raw materials usage. Finance costs, which were related to the Taiwan operation, were higher due to higher gearing.
Earnings per share were 0.59 cents for 1Q FY2016 and 0.26 cents for 1Q FY2015.
