STATS ChipPAC gets $1b acquisition offer from Chinese firm

Taiwan subsidiaries are excluded.

STATS ChipPAC received an acquisition offer from Chinese chip-testing firm Jiangsu Changjiang Electronics Technology (JCET), and exclusive talks of the deal will continue until 30 Nov.

According to a media release, the Proposed Transaction does not include STATS’s subsidiaries in Taiwan, being 52%-owned STATS ChipPAC Taiwan Semiconductor Corporation and 100%-owned STATS ChipPAC Taiwan Co., Ltd.

The Proposed Transaction (which excludes the Taiwan Companies) will be for an aggregate purchase price of USD780 million for all the Shares.
