5G connectivity now available on North East MRT line: Singtel
Commuters can enjoy uninterrupted 5G connection on and off trains.
Singapore’s 5G network has been installed at the underground North East Mass Rapid Transit line (NEL), the first for consumers, telecommunications firm, Singtel said.
In a statement, Singtel, Asia’s leading communications group, said the 5G network will allow commuters with Singtel plans to connect to a reliable and uninterrupted service on and off trains. The indoor coverage spans 300 locations Singapore-wide including all malls along NEL.
Even as putting up 5G connectivity on underground trains is challenging, Singtel said consumers can still use high-quality connectivity whether they are on online calls, streaming videos, or playing online games.
With this, Singtel will also conduct an awareness campaign called, “Make a date with 5G” along the NEL to inform commuters about the availability of 5G underground.
