9 in 10 consumers will reward brands that protect their data: survey
One way that consumers reward brands is through positive app store reviews.
The majority of consumers (96%) in Singapore who use mobile phones when buying are likely to advocate for a brand that meets their security expectations, data from Appdome’s survey showed.
According to the platform’s survey, consumers will reward brands by posting a positive app store review (27.9%) or promoting it on social media (29.1%).
Appdome added that most mobile consumers in Singapore (83.9%) now view protection against security threats, fraud and malware as equally or more important than new features in mobile apps.
Hacking (49.9%), mobile fraud (49.5%) and malware (37.7%) are amongst the top fears of consumers when using mobile apps.
“Mobile consumers in Singapore are more concerned about hackers, mobile fraud and on-device malware attacks than their global peers,” said Tom Tovar, CEO and co-creator of Appdome. “The good news for brands is that Singapore consumers will respond positively when brands take the effort to distinguish themselves by providing a more secure user experience.”
