Bukit Sembawang Estates warns of compromised data in recent cybersecurity breach
The company has implemented measures to boost its cybersecurity.
Bukit Sembawang Estates announced that its appointed third-party forensic adviser has concluded its investigation into the cybersecurity incident it experienced in August.
On 9 August, the company said that an unknown party gained unauthorised access to certain IT servers of the company and blocked off access to data contained within such servers.
In a bourse filing, the group said that “certain data of the Group may have been compromised and potentially exfiltrated”.
The company said the incident has not materially affected its operations and that it immediately implemented measures to enhance its cybersecurity, with ongoing efforts to bolster its tech resilience.
In addition, the company has also notified the Personal Data Protection Commission and will inform affected individuals in compliance with its legal obligations regarding the incident.
Bukit Sembawang Estates advises its shareholders to exercise caution when dealing in the company’s shares and consult their advisers when in doubt.
