Chart of the Day: How confident are board members in handling cybersecurity threats?
Singapore is the third-most confident when it comes to cybersecurity decision-making.
Despite some concerns and challenges, a growing confidence in cybersecurity posture is apparent among board members, with 84% of board members based in Singapore feeling confident about tackling cybersecurity issues in the organisation.
A study by Proofpoint showed that 75% of the 600 board members from 12 countries feel comfortable making decisions on security matters affecting their businesses.
High-profile data breaches, a surge in ransomware attacks, and disruptive supply chain incidents have highlighted the severe consequences of cyber threats.
These threats can extend beyond financial losses, impacting a company's reputation, and customer trust, and causing costly business disruptions.
As a result, boards require a cybersecurity perspective more than ever to safeguard their organisations.
