Deeptech startup Dathena raises $12m in series A round

The funding will be used to boost R&D efforts and hiring of NYC-based staff.

Deeptech company Dathena closed a $12m series A round led by Jungle Ventures, with the participation of Caphorn and Enterprise Singapore’s SEEDS Capital, according to an announcement. Existing investors Cerracap Ventures and MS&AD Ventures also participated in the round.

The new funding is said to support Dathena’s research and development efforts, along with the hiring of New York-based staff across sales, marketing, and customer success functions as the company grows its North American client base.

The company also plans to expand its co-sell partnership with Microsoft into the United States, helping Azure Cloud and Microsoft 365 customers to automate data protection and comply with new data privacy regulations.

The company claims to deliver up to 99% accuracy in data classification and an 80% reduction in information security operational costs to clients in financial services, healthcare, and defense.
