EDBI joins US$42m funding for US-based software

The funding will be used for the company's expansion into Asia Pacific and Japan.

EDBI joined the $57.54m (US$42m) Cisco-led funding for automation software company Puppet. It poured investments for the Oregon-based firm together with Kleiner Perkins, True Ventures, and VMware, an announcement revealed.

“In today’s digital age, companies face increasing complex IT challenges dealing with their dynamic and diverse IT infrastructure,” EDBI president and CEO Swee-Yeok Chu said.

The newly opened regional headquarters in Singapore is part of Puppet’s expansion plans in Asia Pacific and Japan. The firm has supplied five new products and finished 2 company acquisitions in order to supply automation in infrastructure, applications, cloud, containers, and networking devices.

“Leveraging our network, we look forward to helping Puppet scale up its local talent pool to address the region’s opportunities through its APAC Regional HQ in Singapore and to augment Singapore’s digital transformation strategy.” Chu added.

In 2017, Puppet opened five new offices in Seattle, Singapore, Sydney, Timisoara and Tokyo to address the increasing demand for development operations and automation.
