Hewlett-Packard approves 26-week paid leave for new parents

They will be allowed to work part time for up to 36 months.

Hewlett-Packard Enterprise (HPE) announced on Monday, 21 October, the launch of a new parental leave which adds 10 more weeks to the current paid maternal leave and 24 more weeks for new fathers.

In implementing the new leave, HPE aims to promote the importance of equal parenting,asserting companies’ role in supporting employees as they grow their families, according to the release.

The parental leave is granted to HPE employees who have already reached one year of company service. New parents can also benefit from the Parental Transition Support which allows them to work part time for up to 36 months after the birth or adoption of a child.
