OneConnect, IMDA unveil digital cross-border trade platform for SMEs

SMEs can expect a more “seamless’’ cross-border trade.

A new joint initiative between OneConnect Financial Technology and the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) has created a digital platform that will facilitate a better cross-border trade for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), says MND senior minister Sim Ann.

OneSME helps ensure companies and products are validated by utilizing trusted sources such as government registries.

The platform is one of the initiatives under the Singapore-China (Shenzhen) Smart City Initiative (SCI) which aims to enable enterprises and individuals to have easier access to market opportunities in the Greater Bay Area and Southeast Asia by connecting them digitally.

In the future, OneSME also plans on expanding its services to enable local SMEs to connect to other Asian markets and vice versa.
