Singtel-owned Dialog hit by a cybersecurity attack
About 1,000 employees were affected by the hacking incident.
After Optus, another Singtel-owned business in Australia was hit by a cyber security attack.
In a bourse filing, Singtel said its Australia-based IT services consulting company, Dialog Group, experienced a cyber security incident affecting fewer than 20 clients and 1,000 current and former employees.
Dialog said it has notified relevant authorities and is supporting those who may be impacted to protect against the risk of fraudulent activity.
“On Saturday, 10 September, we detected unauthorised access on our servers, which were then shut down as a preventative measure. Within two business days, our servers were restored and fully operational,” Dialog said.
“We contracted a leading cyber security specialist to work with our IT team to undertake a deep forensic investigation and continuous monitoring of the Dark Web,” it added.
