UOB trials Microsoft 365 Copilot Generative AI
The AI tool was first introduced by Microsoft in March 2023.
UOB has tested Microsoft 365 Copilot, a generative artificial intelligence tool, as part of the application's Early Access Program (EAP), the first Singaporean bank to have done so.
In a statement, UOB said around 300 employees across multiple frontline and back-end business functions in the bank will progressively gain access to the new AI tool from Microsoft, including the staff from customer service, technology, and operations.
The bank said the tool will contribute to raising the productivity and effectiveness of the employees by effortlessly summarising lengthy documents and email threads on Outlook, transforming raw data into visualisations in Excel, or delivering concise meeting summaries on Teams.
Microsoft 365 Copilot will improve accessibility to pertinent information by giving employees the capability to locate and reference information within the Bank in an effortless and convenient manner. The tool can identify and retrieve relevant data based on the context of the email or documents that employees are working on.
UOB said the tool will also enhance content quality and deliver impactful messaging by transforming existing documents into engaging presentations.
