What are the top online searches in Singapore for 2022?

AirAsia and Shangri-La Singapore were the top online travel portals and travel-related searches.

Yahoo released the list of the top online topics searched in Singapore forr 2022, ranging from celebrities, artists, to online travel portals.

In a statement, Yahoo said the most search local celebrities were Lawrence Wong and Felicia Chin. Wong was the most-searched local male celebrity for two years straight, whilst Chin was the top female celebrity serach following her announcement about leaving Mediacorp for faith-based ministry, hhm.sg.

Loh Kean Yew was the most searched athlete, the first Singaporean to win the Badminton World Championship and be nominated for the BWF Male Player award. He was also named the Sportsman of the Year at the Singapore Sports Awards ceremony.

The top European Premier League club was Liverpool. The top searched beauty product was Sephora due to its newly-opened cashless “store of the future.” Google was the most searched tech brands, whilst iPhone14 was the most searched tech releases.

Meanwhile, AirAsia topped the most search online travel portals, and Shangri-La Singapore was the to travel-related search.

The Yahoo Year in Review leveraged on users’ anonymised interes patterns based on what was searched and took into account the absolute volume and growth from previous periods to identify the themes and trends emerged to the top.
