Hill & Knowlton appoints Sara Gourlay as Executive Director
She will lead the technology practice for Singapore, following the departure of David Chin.
According to Hill & Knowlton, Sara Gourlay is currently the APAC Regional Practice Director, Technology and Director of Transnational BUsiness for Hill & Knowlton. She will take on an additional role of Executive Director.
“Singapore is growing ever stronger as a gateway to Asia for many organisations in the technology sector and we're also seeing a real opportunity in helping Singapore-based technology companies expand their remit,” commented Hill & Knowlton Singapore Managing Director, Baey Yam Keng. “Sara is a trusted advisor to both our clients and colleagues. She has deep sector knowledge and experience in addressing diverse audiences and a wide-ranging suite of communications challenges. I am very confident that our technology portfolio will continue to thrive under her leadership.”
In her new role, Sara will support Baey to grow the technology business and lead existing client accounts such as CA, Tata Communications and VMware. She will also play a significant role in building the agency’s credentials for managing large, multi-national campaigns and helping technology giants that are headquartered in Singapore to centralise their communications framework.
Sara brings extensive senior level experience having served as General Manager of Hill & Knowlton in Qatar and Kuwait, board director of its London office, and UK Technology Practice Lead for the firm. She was responsible for leading accounts such as Adobe, BT, Compaq, HP, IDA Singapore, Oracle, RIM, Satyam Computer Services, StorageTek and Vodafone. Prior to joining Hill & Knowlton, Sara was the EMEA PR Manager for Dell, with a remit to promote Dell’s business-focused products and solutions across 13 European countries.
David Chin, Senior Director, Technology at Hill & Knowlton Singapore, is leaving the agency after five years to pursue a long-standing ambition to go into teaching.
