SP and Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers partner to boost tech talent in manufacturing

The partnership supports the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) initiative.

Singapore Polytechnic (SP) and the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to boost industry-academia collaboration, drive enterprise transformation, and equip graduates with Industry 4.0 skills.

The MoU will also strengthen the workforce in Singapore and Malaysia by enhancing skills in automation, data analytics, and smart manufacturing.

In addition, the partnership also supports the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) initiative which aims to boost cross-border trade and develop regional business ecosystems.

“This partnership empowers our members by providing access to advanced skills, innovative practices, and global expertise that will help future-proof their businesses. As we embrace Industry 4.0, this initiative will elevate the capabilities of local manufacturers and strengthen our position in global value chains,” Tan Sri Soh Thian Lai, President of FMM said.
