Which brands made the biggest buzz in January
The biggest brand mover was a supermarket chain.
Supermarket chain, Sheng Siong, created the most buzz amongst consumers in Singapore for January, following its adoption of the 1% GST hike, data from YouGov showed.
"Sheng Siong announced that it will be absorbing the consumption tax hike on all products, except alcohol, tobacco, vouchers, lottery, and infant milk powder, until 31 March 2023, via a 1 per cent counter inflation discount," YouGov reported.
In its Biggest Brand Movers report, YouGov ranks businesses on 13 metrics. Sheng Siong made gains in six metrics, namely "Ad Awareness," "Word of Mouth (WOM) Exposure," "Buzz," "General Impression," "Corporate Reputation," and "Customer Satisfaction."
Homegrown fashion label Charles & Keith, which recently made waves following the TikTok luxury debacle, ranked fourth.
Ruffles, Garuda Indonesia, and Samyang were also part of the top five brand movers for the month.
