Real estate investment volume for 2021 to double 2020's: report
Residential, office, and industrial sales to lead investment volume.
Real estate investment volume for 2021 is expected to double last year's figures following an increase in sales for the fifth consecutive quarter.
A report from CBRE Research said investment volume increased 3.3% q-o-q to $7.317b in Q3 2021.
The Q3 investment volume was bolstered by the sale of four Government Land Sales (GLS) sites namely Marina View, Jalan Anak Bukit, Lentor Central and Tampines St 62.
Despite fewer GLS closing for the rest of the year, analysts believe that Q4 will “keep pace” with Q3 since there is still strong investment sentiment.
Analysts are also seeing recovery in investment volume to pre-COVID levels , led by residential, office, and industrial sales.
This despite the dip in volume of the industrial and office market in Q3.
Analysts, however, are expecting office investment market “to turn up the heat with the potential closing of a few large-quantum quality commercial transactions.
Private residential investment volume, on the other hand, increased by 13.4% q-o-q to $2.412b.
