
S-REITs hit 2% returns in 2020
Keppel DC REIT leads the pack with an average total return of 13%.
The 22 best-performing REITs posted an average total return of 2% in 2020 YTD and 28% in 2019, bringing its three-year total return to 51%, according to an SGX report.
Keppel DC REIT leads the pack with an average total return of 13%, followed by Mapletree Logistics Trust with a 10% total return over the same period. Ascendas REIT and Manulife REIT came third at 9%, whilst Mapletree Industrial Trust came next at 8%.
These 22 firms are part of the 50 most traded Singapore stocks in 2020, collecting net institutional inflows of $204m with Ascendas REIT, CapitaLand and Mapletree Logistics REIT leading the pack.
These figures are also said to coincide with low interest rate expectations continuing into 2020- consensus expectations for a Federal Funds interest rate cut in 2020, that have increased to 80% from 50% at the end of 2019. It comes with expectations for a 25 bps cut moving from December to September 2020.
So far, the 20 strongest stocks of the 50 most traded stocks ranked by turnover in 2020 are led by Medtecs International Corporation, Keppel DC REIT, Mapletree Logistical Trust, Ascendas REIT and Manulife US REIT.

Singapore’s most traded healthcare-related stocks after Medtecs International Corporation, were First REIT (#59), Raffles Medical Group (#64), UG Healthcare (#67), Parkway Life REIT (#82) and Riverstone Holdings (#88).
