800,000 HDB residents to receive GST vouchers

Households can offset up to 4 months of utility bills.

Lower and middle-income Singaporeans residing in HDB flats will be getting a breather from utility bills as GST Vouchers and U-Save rebates are set to be distributed on October.

According to the MOF, residents of 1- to 2-room flats will be able to offset 3 to 4 months of utility bills on average, while those living in 3- to 4-room flats can save 1 to 2 months of bills.

“The GST Voucher – U-Save forms one component of the permanent GST Voucher scheme. The U-Save component is distributed every quarter,” the MOF said.

“In October 2015, eligible Singaporean households will each receive a GST Voucher – U-Save of up to $65, depending on their HDB flat type,” they added.
