Keppel real estate fund management arm opens China office
The China office will work on the investment process including deal sourcing, asset management and financing.
Alpha Investment Partners Limited ("AIP"), real estate fund management arm of Keppel Land Limited, will set up its new China office in Shanghai, China and has appointed Mr Eric Goh Lai Soon as CEO of China Operations.
This extension into China comes on the back of two deals that AIP closed in Shanghai early this year for a fund under its management.
"AIP is committed to grow and deepen its presence in China. The China office will work closely with the Singapore head office in the investment process including deal sourcing, asset management and financing. As and when the opportunity arises, the China office will also seek to raise funds locally.
"We will leverage Eric's wealth of experience and strong network in China, building a core team with the necessary knowledge and skills set to effectively execute our investment strategy in a market where we see tremendous opportunities," said Mr Loh Chin Hua, Managing Director of AIP.
Mr Goh, 50, was most recently CEO of Ascendas China. He was responsible for developing and managing the company's property portfolio in China and formulating its overall China strategy. A veteran real estate and fund management professional with 26 years of experience in China, Mr Goh held a number of management and executive positions with Ascendas China, New City (China) Investment Mangement Corporation Limited, Shui On Land Limited and within the Sembcorp group of companies, according to a Keppel report.
Mr Goh holds a Master of Business Administration (with Distinction) with the University of Bradford, UK and a Bachelor of Science (Building) with the National University of Singapore. Mr Goh is also a qualified as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (UK) and Professional Quantity Surveyor (Singapore).
