SPH revamps UK student accommodation portfolio for $18.9m
112 non en-suite rooms will be converted to private rooms.
Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) has commenced an asset enhancement initiative for nine properties in its UK student accommodation portfolio.
An estimated total of $18.9m (£10.6m) will be spent on refurbishing the assets.
About $9.56m (£5.37m) is earmarked to convert 112 non en-suite rooms to students at its St. Teresa House accommodation in Plymouth city to cater to students who prefer private spaces.
The rest of the investment will be alloted to the refurbishments of rooms and selected common areas for the eight assets in Huddersfield, Plymouth, and Sheffield, as well as in Bristol and Birmingham.
The portfolio was acquired in September 2018.
