
2 hotel sites at Kallang Riverside no longer on the reserve list
Government introduces more changes in the GLS Programme for the First Half of 2012.
The GLS Programme for the first half of 2012 (1H2012) comprised 14 sites on the Confirmed List and 27 sites on the Reserve List.
In a press release, the Urban Redevelopment Authority said that to date, 10 of the Confirmed List sites have been sold and tender for 1site is under evaluation.
The tenders for another 3 Confirmed List sites1 site with on-going tender and tenders for another 2 sites to be
launched in June 2012 will be completed by August 20122.
In addition, two residential sites at Boon Lay Way and Farrer Drive and a hotel site at Rangoon Road / Farrer Park Station Road were successfully triggered for tender from the 1H2012 Reserve List. The Boon Lay Way and Rangoon Road / Farrer Park Station Road sites were sold and the tender for the Farrer Drive site is on-going.
According to URA, The two hotel sites at Kallang Riverside, which were made available for sale via the Reserve List in June 2009 and June 2011 respectively, will be removed from the Reserve List as the development plans for these sites are being reviewed.
Excluding the above sites, 22 sites (i.e. 13 residential sites, 2 commercial sites, 2 white sites and 5 hotel sites) remaining on the 1H2012 GLS Programme will be carried over to the 2H2012 GLS Programme. Out of these, 4 residential sites and 1 commercial site will be released for sale via the Confirmed List under the 2H2012 GLS

The commercial site at Punggol Point will be transferred from the 1H2012 Reserve List to the 2H2012 Confirmed List. It is envisioned to be developed into a rustic seaside dining destination as part of URA’s broader plans to transform Punggol Point into an attractive waterfront promenade for sports and recreation.
