
CapitaLand reveals key strategies for Singapore and China
See its battle plan for growth.
CapitaLand will join more land tenders in Singapore and focus on key cities in China, the company revealed in a presentation to investors at Nomura Investment Forum Asia in Singapore.
CapitaLand Singapore will build its Residential arm by continuing to participate in land tenders, increasing value to customers, and improving economies of scale in procurement. For its Office segment, it plans to be opportunistic and aim for best value. For REITs, it is looking for opportunities for growth
CapitaLand China, meanwhile, will be focusing on key cities in China. Its Residential strategy involves targeting first-time home buyers and upgraders. It also plans to leverage on branding of integrated developments and convenient access to amenities. It is now considering larger projects with multiple launch phases, and is reviewing existing mass housing projects in China.
By building scale and brand awareness, CapitaLand hopes it can create steady recurring income stream and potential for capital appreciation. The company said mixed used developments leverage on its multi-product expertise to build competitive advantage.
